This unbiased commentator is in no doubt whatsoever that Elton was desperately on the hunt for a few bargain copies of the Newtown band's hotcha 1920s-style album, 'Doin' The Charleston'.

The bespectacled bohemian was spotted frequently referring to a Christmas shopping list drawn up by his nearest and dearest while rifling through record crate after dusty record crate in a frantic yet fruitless search.

"I think everyone should buy 'Doin' The Charleston' for family and friends this Christmas," someone in no way associated with Reginald Kenneth Dwight aka Sir Elton Hercules John said. "Do they really know it's Christmas without a copy?"

An exasperated Elton, unable to find 'Doin' the Charleston' in what turned out to be a Newtown second-hand record shop specialising in rock, sullenly settled on a tawdry trio of pre-loved K-Tel vinyl lovingly listened to long ago by fans in flairs.

"I guess that's why they call it the blues," a sympathetic onlooker observed. "But don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player."

However, a minder, who rumour says did computer studies at high school, was later seen to hand Elton a digital device.

He showed the fabulously funky funeral crooner how excitingly easy it really is to download 'Doin' The Charleston' ONLINE at BANDCAMP.

He told Elton he could even pay whatever he wanted above the minimum - all without leaving the Rolls.

The mentoring minder then dazzled the celebrated sequinned superstar with a deft demonstration on how easy it is to snap up dozens of 'Doin' The Charleston' CDs, too, again at bargain basement BANDCAMP.

Through security's selfless efforts, we can all sleep soundly tonight knowing there'll be plenty of cacophonous Christmas cheer this year for every one of EJ's extended family and each of his thousands of really close friends.

"The secret's out! Now you too can pay anything you want from US$5 and up for a brand new 'Doin' The Charleston' at Bandcamp," a music expert in no way associated with the former Bluesology singer revealed. "You too, can feel the love tonight."
